Patrick Sixth On Debut

Danica Patrick's stock car racing debut ended with an impressive sixth-place finish in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 Arca Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday.

Having qualified 12th, Patrick fell to 24th after a collision with another rookie, former Renault F1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr, but climbed back through the field during the 80-lap race.

Piquet eventually finished 27th, while victory went to Bobby Gerhart.

Patrick, who plans a limited number of appearances in stock cars this season alongside her IndyCar commitments, will announce this week whether she will compete in next Saturday's Drive4COPD 300 Nationwide Series race at Daytona.
