James joins up with Sharks

Sale have signed former Wales international Dafydd James on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has found first-team opportunities limited this season with the Cardiff Blues, who he joined after having his contract terminated with Scarlets.

James has won 45 caps for his country and also made three appearances for the British and Irish Lions on their 2001 tour to Australia.

The Sharks have drafted him in for the rest of the campaign to help cover for injuries in their back division.

Andy Tuilagi is the latest casualty for the Guinness Premiership side after the Samoa centre suffered a broken arm.

"We're delighted that Dafydd has agreed to join us until the end of the season. He can play at centre or on the wing, positions where we've had injury problems this year," Sale director of rugby Kingsley Jones said.
